Baby blue twinkles in the colour spectrum like gentle starlight, imprinting soothing and contentment on us. Innocent and fun with comfort woven into its wavelength, it calls blankets and booties, crystal pools and delicate flowers into collective recollection. Light, powdery soft and sweet, this shade of blue is one of the first we come to love. When the world is new and all opportunity is hopeful, baby blue is the bright sky into which we gaze with excitement of what things can be.

When you see something, does a scent come to mind? Sensing synaesthesia — the sensation of perfumed visualization. For a long time, we’ve been fascinated by the idea of hearing color, tasting sound,

Logos that float in midair

Chicago-based artist Mark Siber snaps tall advertising signs in the United States and Europe, then digitally erases their supporting pillars, lending them an almost reverent appeal as they appear to float in mid-air. It says something about the absurdly blind idol worship that people can ascribe to brands.

RE-BLUE Smell of the year - 2014 that is.  For those working on trends and the future, smell a blue trend for the devlopment of 2014.

Sun kissed and sea breezed, the scent of Re-Blue soothes the senses like a sailboat ride over gentle waves. Whether a secluded pool with delicate water lilies floating on top, an azure lagoon glittering in the dusk or a seaside beach at low tide, this scent conveys feelings of escape to paradise.

Re-Blue is the scent of gentle morning rains replenishing an outdoor bath. Droplets chime like tiny bells as they hit the surface while fluid ripples undulate with the rhythm of a lazy bass. Sparkling sands as smooth as glass are blown lightly around footprints on the shore. A clean, refreshing scent of water, ozone and salt pervades the atmosphere.

Three stages of relaxation wait at first sniff. First there is the ozone in the air that teases the nose with hints of aquatic repose. Then there is the initial splash that refreshes the skin and lifts the spirit as the water’s essence drifts along. Finally, the scent of salt engulfs the nose as submergence takes place. Three levels of restoration reside in one cool, clean fragrance.

When a nose drinks in the scent, it sails away on crystalline notes to a sleepy reverie where images of blue skies, turquoise seas and island holidays float dreamily by. Calming, cleansing and restorative, this scent affords a chance to plunge into the depths of our selves and find peace.

This is a scent for those who can do everything and nothing at once. It is a catalyst for dreaming and a means to connect with the elemental forces that drive our psyches. It beckons to those who drift into introspection and inspiration from serene meditation.

Our bodies are composed predominantly of water and a breath of this scent brings us back to who we are and what sustains us. Re-Blue is a return to our essence and an oasis in the home.
